Do I really need a patch test for a gloss?
Yes — any service with dye in it, including a clear gloss, needs a skin test at least 48 hours before. It is a small dot behind the ear, it costs nothing, and without it we cannot start the colour on the day.
Should I wash my hair before I come in?
Please don't, especially for a first visit or a colour. Day-two hair shows us the natural parting, the oil balance at the roots and how the ends behave. For a blow-dry only, either way is fine.
What happens if I run late?
Let us know and we will do what the remaining time allows — usually that means the cut happens and the treatment moves to next time. Past 20 minutes on a long colour we will normally rebook you, because a rushed application shows for months.
Why is the price a "from" price?
Length and density change how much product and time a service takes, so a mid-back balayage is not the same job as a chin-length one. We quote the exact figure at the dry consultation, before anything is mixed, and it does not move after that.
Can you cut children's hair?
We cut from around age eight, when sitting still for 30 minutes is realistic, and we keep those appointments to the quieter morning slots. We don't colour under-16s.
How much notice do you need to cancel?
24 hours for a cut and 48 for anything over two hours, simply because a long colour slot is hard to refill. Tell us as early as you can and there is never a fuss; short-notice changes may mean we ask for a deposit next time.
Can I bring a reference photo?
Always, and bring two or three rather than one. Photos of hair you have loved on yourself are even more useful than photos of someone else, and we will tell you honestly how close we can get in one visit.
